The year was 2009. The freefall of the economy had subsided and a new president was in office. It was a time of great uncertainty. This is the story of Knuckles Deep, a story of opportunity and timing.

The backgrounds of each member of Knuckles Deep represent a different era of music history. While it would be easy to think that these distinct styles could not coexist, somehow they do. And due to a mutual respect for each other and for each other’s opinion , the result is a smooth mix of Rock, Pop, Country, R&B and original material that is sure to provide something for everyone.

Their passion for music is quite evident. A Knuckles Deep performance emits an energy that can be heard, seen, and felt. The "go for it" drum style, the soulful bass, the powerful guitar, and the extraordinary singing meld into an exciting presence. Although his background comes from gospel and pop, front man and lead singer Darrell Hoots has a unique style, range and ability to warm you with a soft love song or bring the house down with a scream-induced rock melody.

Come join us and enjoy what has everyone asking for more - the unique experience that is, Knuckles Deep!

Dennis Shea Dennis Shea

From an early age, music shaped Dennis' life. He received his first guitar at age 13 and began playing hours a day. At age 19, he found out he was better suited for playing bass and made the switch.

The biggest influence on Dennis' playing style is Robert DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots. This admiration can be found by listening to the bass lines in any of Knuckles Deep's original music. In addition to STP, Dennis is influenced by Led Zeppelin, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and the Killers.

It all started with some five gallon ice cream buckets and a few pie tins. These items became Brad’s first drum set at the age of eight. At that time, he loved keeping the rhythm but eventually he was ready to upgrade to real set, which he received shortly thereafter. A year later, he was given his first guitar. Although he has continued to play both instruments over the next 23 years, recently he decided to focus on the drums, although you may catch him time-to-time playing a tune on the guitar or, if you are lucky, on some ice cream buckets and pie tins.
